Sustainability is a major part of Forbo’s ethos; from how we choose our raw materials to the way we market and sell our products. All together this makes that our floor coverings fulfil our mission to create a better environment, using Green Design guidelines, green energy and by using the 4R principle of: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Renew. In order to achieve our sustainability goals, we believe that collaborating with others who share the same ideas and philosophies, is crucial.
World Green Building Council
In 2021 Forbo Flooring Systems has joined the World Green Building Council’s (WorldGBC) Corporate Advisory Board. This is a select group of global leaders in sustainability, active in the Building and Construction industry, that serves to guide WorldGBC on its strategy and activities to accelerate the sustainable building movement.
The World Green Building Council catalyses the uptake of sustainable buildings for everyone, everywhere. Transforming the building and construction sector across three strategic areas – climate action, health & wellbeing, and resources & circularity – they are a global action network comprised of around 70 Green Building Councils around the globe.
As members of the UN Global Compact, they work with businesses, organisations and governments to drive the ambitions of the Paris Agreement and UN Global Goals for Sustainable Development. Through a systems change approach, their network is leading the industry towards a net zero carbon, healthy, equitable and resilient built environment.
