Social Accountability
Social Accountability is one of the sustainability pillars of Forbo Flooring Systems. To support social equity and fair treatment of workers in our supply chain we adopted the Social Accountability standard – SA 8000. This standard reflects labor provisions contained within the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and International Labor Organization (ILO) conventions.
Forbo Flooring's SA8000 certification currently ensures that important human rights and ethical working conditions are respected in our worldwide supply chain, such as compulsory labour and child labour, health and safety at the workplace, prevention of discrimination, fair remuneration and the right to collective bargaining. It also respects, complements and supports national labor laws around the world and obliges us to regular audit our worldwide suppliers. By adhering to the SA8000 standard, we monitor our suppliers and ensure that everyone in our chain is treated fairly. We uphold our policy by performing regular audits ourselves to check that our suppliers are guaranteeing the appropriate working conditions.
Further information on SA8000 at Forbo Flooring can be found in our annual report.
