Architect : We were approached by a school to transform an existing office space into a new open and airy office for 2 new teams with shared facilities.
The space is a mezzanine level within a former gymnasium, and this meant that we had to consider an appropriate hard wearing, easy to clean floor that could be applied over plywood boards.
We also needed to address the school's branding, colours and energy. We saw this product as an opportunity to bring the school into a new and exciting space.
One team focuses on informal education and the other formal. The informal and it's shapes begin to mix and mesh with the formal. The shared zone becomes emphasised as the combination of the two spaces.
The yellow is interspersed to create a pop of energy throughout.
The floor is a mesh between spaces. It is vibrant and functional.
We love how the clean floors can contrast with the raw elements. We also love how appropriate this floor is for the Covid climate
