In February 2022, smartphone game developer and operator COLOPL relocated its headquarters to Tokyo Midtown. The company's goal has been to create an environment where employees can attend work with peace of mind, thanks to the implementation of infection-control measures based on scientific evidence. As part of this effort, Forbo's linoleum products (Marmoleum and Furniture Linoleum) act as a control measure against a contact infection through flooring and furniture.
This project is the largest ever linoleum application in a Japanese office (about 6,000 square meters). More than two years have passed since the spread of COVID-19, and infection control measures in offices have become an ongoing issue. As work styles diversify, moreover, it is becoming increasingly important to create office environments where employees can work safely and comfortably, and hence can also attract excellent human resources and increase corporate competitiveness. COLOPL contributes to the realization of a sustainable society in consideration of the SDGs and ESG principles with materials that are also carbon neutral. COLOPL's new office is a pioneering effort to realize an "office where employees feel safe and want to come to work". With a clear concept and driving force, it will provide many insights into the potential future of the office.
