The Neuroport Senior Rehabilitation Center, located on Lake Kierskie in Poznań, is an example of a fresh approach to the issue of creating space for long-term care and convalescence. The central points of the project activities were to meet the needs of clients, not only those resulting from limited mobility, but also psychological and social ones. Designers have created many diverse common spaces to facilitate community building among residents.
Due to the location, the lakeside flora and the colors of the earth became the inspiration for the interiors. The motifs of the surrounding vegetation appear in the murals in the cafe, dining room and winter garden. Subdued colors with accents in shades of terracotta on furniture elements, door joinery or the spectacular central staircase correspond with the nature surrounding the building visible from the windows.
