Tornhøjhaven is Denmark's first dementia village, designed and built especially for people with dementia. Tornhøjhaven is not just a dementia center. It is a whole dementia village with its own café, shop and main street where people with a dementia disease can live in a safe environment.
Tornhøjhaven dementia village has only one entrance. The homes are connected, independent houses on 2 floors, which together form a closed and safe village environment. The architectural idea is based on the single family house, and the main street of the country town presents a mix of homes, shops and green oases with trails, hills and streams.
