The rehabilitation of the Viladecans Library focuses on improving energy efficiency and on using sustainable materials. Improvements in the building envelope stand out, with an emphasis on thermal insulation and the renovation of carpentry and roofing. In the spaces meant for consultation and internal work with computer equipment, a conductive linoleum floor was chosen.
When contracting the execution of the work, sustainability criteria were evaluated in the choice of products. Preference went to materials with Type I eco-labels, verified by third parties according to specifications and requirements that span the product life cycle. This sustainable approach underlines the commitment to energy efficiency and respect for the environment.
