After a construction period of just over 3 years, a new institute and laboratory building for mechanical engineering and energy technology of the Leipzig University of Applied Sciences has been constructed at Karl-Liebknecht-Str. in Leipzig. The new building complements the faculties on the campus of the HTKW Leipzig, so that a better networking of the university is now guaranteed. The client "SIB Leipzig II Branch" has invested a total of € 26,290,000.00 in the new building.
By combining the core areas of machine technology and energy technology, with similar technical and spatial requirements, the new premises can be optimally used by both departments. Yellow linoleum floors were used to create a healthy working environment in the upper and basement.
