The goal of the municipality of Alkmaar is to become the most innovative municipality in the Netherlands in the field of services and mutual cooperation. That is why the city office has been thoroughly renovated. For example, two large voids were installed in the elongated building to connect the floors. The architect has also decided not to use too many materials and colors. The neutral color palette and the subtle stony structure of Marmoleum Concrete combines beautifully with the white curtains and ceilings and the gray of the interior walls, stairs and balustrades.
