The educational institution Gemeinschaftsschule Herrenberg is located in the picturesque town of Herrenberg, in the heart of Baden-Württemberg. The school is characterised by its modern pedagogical orientation, which aims to promote individual strengths and create an inclusive learning environment in which all pupils are equally supported. A key feature is the variety of educational programmes on offer. From traditional subjects to creative courses in art, music and theatre, the school offers a wide range of subjects that appeal to the different interests and talents of the pupils.

The former building of Regelschule 20 became the new location of the Gemeinschaftsschule Herrenberg. The school building and the school sports hall were completely renovated. The school building first had to be gutted and stripped back to its shell condition. The façade and roof were insulated as part of an energy-efficient refurbishment. The building also received new windows, doors and external sun protection. In order to bring both the school and the sports hall up to the latest technical standards, the entire heating, ventilation and sanitary technology as well as the electrical technology had to be replaced.

In addition to the energy-efficient refurbishment, the focus was also on sustainable product selection. Forbo's climate-positive Marmoleum was therefore chosen for the floor covering. Linoleum is made from natural raw materials such as linseed oil, wood flour and tree resins, which makes it an environmentally friendly choice. At a time when sustainability is playing an increasingly important role, this is an important aspect for educational institutions that want to minimise their ecological footprint. In addition, linoleum's durability, ease of cleaning, hygiene benefits and aesthetic versatility make it a practical and attractive choice for flooring in school buildings.
