Jemma Masters
Meet the team
As a long-standing member of the Forbo team, Jemma Masters, Marketing Manager for the International Key Accounts team, talks to us about her role and how she spends her free time.
I’ve been at the company since January 2000, working in numerous different marketing roles over the years. Currently I am the Marketing Manager for the International Key Accounts team, where a significant proportion of my time is focused on the global transport segments including rail, marine, bus and coach.
Whether it be organising events, customer requests, developing point of sale materials or creating content for marketing communications, the most important thing is communication. Working together as a team, listening and learning from each other, and ensuring everyone knows what’s happening and what’s expected of them is key. Teams video calls enable regular team updates and discussions; however, you still can’t beat face to face meet ups.
We often all meet up for exhibitions and recently we all met up in Holland to do some Marmoleum FR2 installation training, which was really good fun.
There is no-one specifically that inspires me as such, but I do very much enjoy being around people who are motivated, those that are willing to go above and beyond what’s expected of them, especially those that have a truly positive outlook on life.
I enjoy how no two days are the same. I am constantly liaising with people in different areas of the business and with my colleagues in many different countries. Plus, there’s a real variety in my work, whether it’s preparing for or following up after an exhibition, developing marketing communication plans or working on social media campaigns, there’s always many different things going on.
The three transport segments of rail, marine, bus and coach are also quite different in terms of where our customers are located, what they want from our products, and how best to reach them. This brings incredible variety to my role, which makes it really enjoyable.
I enjoy doing anything outside, so walking my dog, running, cycling, skiing. I ran the London Marathon in October 2022, which took a lot of training but was a great personal achievement and I managed to raise £4,600 for a children’s cancer charity – Young Lives vs Cancer.
I also love travelling to new destinations and learning about different cultures and I have to say that many of my family and friends know all about Forbo’s floor covering products as when we go on holidays, I always manage to find a Forbo floor and just have to tell everyone about it. The passion never fades.
