Forbo Allura Flex Installation Guide

You need to ensure there is a continuous expansion gap of at least 5mm width on all sides of the installation (Tip: you can use leftover pieces of the floor-covering as spacers). This expansion gap should also be maintained around all fixed objects in the room, for example, door frames and pillars. Expansion joints MUST NOT be filled with silicone.
Yes, perimeter gaps in small rooms (10m2 maximum room size), such as bathrooms or kitchens, can be filled with silicone in order to prevent water penetration. Where door frames cannot be cut, we would recommend a 5mm expansion gap which may be filled locally with silicone. If door frames are to be rebated, please also ensure that an expansion gap of 5mm is maintained.
