More than just a place to lay their head, students' personal living spaces need to convey home comfort and a sense of security as well as providing the practical amenities required of apartment style living. As design trends continue to "bring the outside in", flooring emulating natural materials such as wood delivers best aesthetic appeal. However options such as laminates and even the real thing itself do little to contribute to the acoustic performance of the space, and ultimately the comfort of the students living there.
