You recently visited the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) show in New York, what were the stand out moments of the show for you and why?
The venue was the largest convention centre I have ever been to. There were a staggering amount of exhibition stands and I don’t think I went round them all. Being an Architect and having a wife who is an Interior Designer, I have an extensive interest in all aspects of design – lighting, furniture, branding, fixtures & fittings, tiles, all the way through to textiles. The ICFF trade show offered the opportunity to view some fantastic products which sometimes are not possible to specify due to budgets etc. however that’s not to say these can't inspire my designs going forward. We are in an ever changing world, of which ‘flexibility’ is a core value to any design brief, whether through the architecture or the interior design, and for me the number of products showcasing flexibility of use and application stood out more than others – from furniture to lighting.
