Forbo celebrates grand opening of new distribution center!
Hazleton, PA, September 17, 2024 – Forbo Flooring Systems North America celebrated the grand opening of our new distribution center in Hazleton, PA this week with a ribbon cutting ceremony. As the first orders began shipping from the new facility, we mark not only a key milestone on our journey to a North American Flotex production plant, but also an improved way of doing business.
“It’s a very exciting time,” said Denis Darragh, Vice President of Forbo’s North American operations, who noted the change from a traditional horizontal warehouse to the new vertical facility which houses the same amount of product in a smaller footprint. “The new vertical distribution center presents new challenges and new ways of working,” Darragh noted. “Thanks to the tremendous efforts of our employees, and support from Hans Strasser, we have developed new strategies to make our processes more effective and effective, allowing us to provide better service for our customers.”
With the new distribution center operational, Forbo North America continues progress to the opening of our first North American satellite plant, which will serve all Flotex needs in the North American market, changing our service profile and expanding our design offering. The new Flotex production facility is expected to be completed in 2025.
