A sustainable working environment

Work Experience Companies (WEB) came to het Kantoor van Morgen to renovate their offices. This non-profit organisation coordinates various initiatives to help people who have difficult access to the employment market to find a sustainable job.

The choice for a modern interpretation of the landscape office was quickly made. The space was divided into zones and the various meeting rooms and separate desks of the heads of department were used as a separation. In this way, everyone enjoys the open character of the design, but there is still sufficient acoustic and visual separation to help maintain focus.

In terms of materials, the varied use of wood is instantly noticeable. Resourcelab, one of WEB's own initiatives, manufactures furniture and made-to-measure interiors from reclaimed wood and this with social employment. They were responsible for the manufacture of all wooden walls, tables, benches and lockers. Eyecatcher of all this is the rusted wall in one of the meeting rooms. Resourcelab showed its ingenuity and painted an MDF board with oxidising paint. The result is almost identical.

In order to allow the wood to stand out sufficiently, the choice was made to keep all the other walls sober and white. A durable Marmoleum floor based on linseed oil accentuates the open impression of the design and the black ceiling brings contrast and atmosphere.
