Cette collection Created by s’inspire des expériences, des observations et des éléments de fascination de Mac Stopa dans divers domaines du design. En collaboration avec Forbo Flooring Systems, ses idées ont été visualisées à l’aide de techniques d’impression haute définition.

Plusieurs superbes créations dans les catégories fleur, trapèze, osier et hexagone ont été développées pour les revêtements de sol Flotex en textile floqué et les revêtements en vinyle Eternal de Forbo. Chaque revêtement possède ses propres caractéristiques uniques selon l’imagerie de Mac Stopa.

Les motifs de revêtement de sol affichés à droite montrent une surface de 100 cm x 100 cm (40 po x 40 po).

Geometric forms & new technologies

Mac Stopa is an award-winning architect and designer whose work spans several design disciplines: architecture, interior design, industrial design, art, graphic design and fashion. He is founder of Massive Design, an architectural design firm specialising in corporate interiors.

The Created by Mac Stopa collection is based on the idea of architectural modularity and the desire to organize the space around us in an architectural way. This is realised through the use of repetitive geometric forms, such as hexagons, trapezoids or braided structures, which form the base of the collection. Mac Stopa’s experience in interior design has inspired him to combine these structures with the textures of classic interior materials such as wood, fabrics, metal and leather.

“When designing, I like to experiment, I observe the beauty of nature and the physical phenomena that surround us. This often becomes the inspiration for new projects. A unique artistic interpretation. Throughout the collection there is a recurrent theme based on the variable colours of adjacent modular forms. In nature this is associated with the refraction and absorption of light reflections. I have used it as a design tool, giving each pattern a dimension and subtlety that, when combined with the traditional familiarity of modular patterns, creates an exciting fusion of classic form and 21st century technology.”

Unique visual partnership

Mac Stopa is an architect, interior designer and designer of transmission forms. His designs emanate from his fascination with mathematics and geometry. His passion for modularity, sculptural shapes and digital art drive him to create objects for serial production that introduce innovation to the market and allow the user to interact with and adapt the objects to the required functionality of a space.

This Created by collection is inspired by Mac Stopa's experiences, observations and fascinations in various fields of design. In collaboration with Forbo Flooring, his ideas were visualised using high definition printing techniques. Several beautiful designs were developed for both Forbo's textile Flotex floors and Eternal vinyl floors. Each floor gives its own unique characteristics to the imagery of Mac Stopa.

“As a designer of industrial forms, I am fascinated by organic structures but also new technologies related to 3D printing. By combining these elements with the geometric shapes, the designs I have created achieve a quality of softness and three-dimensionality.”

All items of the Flotex Created by collections are also available in an adhesive free flooring solution: Flotex Next. You can order a Flotex Next floor by adding the code NX as a suffix behind the regular colour number.

The dense surface pile make Flotex extremely durable, while its upright polyamide filaments and impermeable PVC backing means it can be cleaned right down to the base. The polyamide pile captures airborne allergens and fine dust, which is easily released through vacuuming, thereby contributing towards better indoor air quality.
