Part of the major renovation of Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences' Academy Square location is the renewal of the laboratories for the Chemistry and Biology and Medical Laboratory Research programmes. "The laboratories are now much better suited to the field of work," says Susanne Blaak, programme manager for the renovation of the Academieplein location. "The previous laboratories at this location were quite outdated. Now students and teachers work in an environment that meets the way Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences wants to educate students: preparing them for the practice of today and of the future." The new laboratories are more beautiful and modern and also more sustainable and safer. Surestep was chosen for the floors. The slight anti-slip effect of this floor prevents falls and is also easy to clean. In the adjoining corridors and classrooms, Marmoleum was chosen. Sustainability is an integral part of education and that includes sustainable suppliers such as Forbo.
