On October 12, 2009, Germany's largest open-air library was opened by the Berlin Humboldt University. After around 100 years, the university has its first library building. The design of the central reading room is based on the desire for "reading under the open sky", the subject areas are assigned to individual terraces. The so-called reading islands were provided with black linoleum (Marmoleum Dual 630) as floor covering, green furniture linoleum desktop was used for the reading tables. A total of over 26,000 m² was moved.
