    Flotex created by Tibor

Pioneering textile designer Tibor Reich - creator of Tibor - was one of the most prominent figures in the British post-war textile industry. Forbo has teamed up with this British design legend on an exciting new flooring range. Most of the designs are derived from Tibor’s ground-breaking Fotexur collection, launched in 1957. Printed on Forbo Flotex in vibrant colours, Tibor’s innovative Fotexur designs have a timeless feel, despite dating back 70 years.

    Flotex created by Sottsass

Ground breaking both aesthetically and technically. Flotex Sottsass flocked flooring is the result of a creative collaboration between Forbo Flooring and the Italian design studio Sottsass Associati which is responsible for the famous Memphis Design trend at the end of the last century. The Sottsass designs present unique organic forms and irregular, apparently random patterns.

All items of the collection are also available in an adhesive free flooring solution: Flotex Next. You can order a Flotex Next floor by adding the code NX as a suffix behind the regular colour number.

    Flotex created by Starck

Philippe Starck created a collection of 3 systems, named Vortex, Artist and Twilight. Each of them comes in four separate parts that can be freely arranged to create patterns for your project that adapts to your needs and preferences.

Using a high definition digital printing technique with the dense fibre surface of Flotex flocked flooring, Starck’s collection features unique patterns. By playing on scale and transition, each of the three systems challenges tradition and creates a new language in the perception of interior spaces and floor covering design.

    Flotex created by Galeote

The collaboration of José Medina Galeote and the design teams of Forbo Flooring Systems gave birth to an unique collection of flooring in which the artists’ creations are given a new dimension through the medium of flooring.

By bringing his works of art right under our feet, José Médina Galeote explores new perspectives on various textures. Forbo's high definition printing techniques can bring the creations of José Medina Galeote to life on any floor.

All items of the collection are also available in an adhesive free flooring solution: Flotex Next. You can order a Flotex Next floor by adding the code NX as a suffix behind the regular colour number.

This Created by collection is inspired by Mac Stopa's experiences, observations and fascinations in various fields of design. In collaboration with Forbo Flooring, his ideas were visualised using high definition printing techniques.

Several beautiful designs in the categories flower, trapezoid, wicker and hexagon have been developed for both Forbo's textile Flotex floors and Eternal vinyl floors. Each floor gives its own unique characteristics to the imagery of Mac Stopa.

The floor designs displayed on the right show an area of 100 x 100 cm.

Environment

A sustainable floor

Green electricity
Forbo’s manufacturing operations for Flotex in Great Britain and France secure a high quality floor covering, produced with green electricity and minimum waste streams that are all recycled in the floor.

Water based
Flotex is created with nylon 6.6 fibres. All dies and inks that are used to create the Flotex designs are water based. No additional chemical processes take place other than high temperature steam treatment to secure the colours.

Recycled content
Flotex makes use of waste streams of other Forbo production locations to be transformed into the backing of the floor coverings. Recycled content in Flotex is up to 67% of the backing content.

Extremely durable
A big advantage for using Flotex is the extreme performance of the floor covering, with a product life time that surpasses that of ordinary textiles by a factor 6.

Simple cleaning & maintenance
Flotex can be cleaned by using water and a simple detergent. For most staining, simple household soap is enough to clean the product, while other detergent clean away ink, oil and more severe stains. After use Flotex can be recycled back into the production process.

Allergy UK

Allergy approved flooring

Allergy UK has conducted a survey to ask people how they think about their workplace in relation to the presence of allergens. They concluded that close to 27% of working people could be allergic to their workplace.

Flotex has a unique construction that captures allergens and fine dust from the air and is easy to clean. It is even a better textile solution for allergens than hypoallergenic carpet floors. Vacuuming a Flotex flooring removes double the allergens compared to conventional carpet floors. This is one of the reasons why Forbo's Flotex flocked flooring is the only textile floor covering to be awarded the prestigious Allergy UK Seal of Approval™.
