The architects of Heinle, Wischer and Partner renovated the pediatric ward of the Klinikum Brandenburg, a hospital that has a tradition of around 100 years.
The assigment was to modify an impatient ward to a pediatric ward for babies and children up to the age of 17 years without altering the rooms. The ward was splitted into two parts with 20 beds each. The architects developed a concept they called "experience world and world of experience". The floor is covered with inlaid work that shows animals for the ward part for the younger children. In the part of the ward for the older children there are inlaid works that show places of interest all around the world.
