With thorough knowledge and understanding of future architectural developments, we can create contemporary and relevant flooring designs.
To make sure that our customers' projects have the most up-to-date flooring design, we need to be aware of new trends and changing attitudes in society and understand how they affect the built environment.
Based on the outcome of in-house research conducted by the Forbo Flooring Design Team, a yearly report is made with an overview of the identified trends. The report is a valuable source of inspiration, gives us a clear vision of future market needs, and helps us to include them in new and inspiring collections.
On the doorstep of many global challenges, the world responds with fluidity. Everything and everyone can change, transform, or become something or someone else. Facts and fiction merge. A grassroots re-evaluation of everything has begun.
Fluidity is also found in archetypical designs. Presented as assemblages, adaptable and balancing between commodity and art. In the built world, dialogues are shaped between architectural heritage and contemporary design. Ancient buildings are restored and adapted to the latest sustainable requirements, bringing renewed views on the past, our environments, and our impact on the world.
As the full trend report consists of a large collection of carefully curated images, descriptions, colours, and product references, we created a summary with the most important trends that we identified as being relevant in the built environment.
