Many of the products in the Forbo Coral collection are made from ECONYL® – a high quality yarn made from 100% regenerated polyamide.

What's more, the primary backing of Coral Welcome is made from recycled plastic PET bottles.

We make Coral in a factory running entirely on green electricity and which sends virtually zero waste to landfill. 100% of the rubber, aluminium and steel waste from our Nuway production is recycled.

For customers wanting a ‘natural’ entrance system, we deliver Nuway Tuftiguard with Bamboo scraper bars. A sustainable species of grass, bamboo is one of earth's fastest growing plants.

Tessera - industry leading recycled content

Forbo's UK-produced tufted carpet tiles contain at least 58% recycled material (by weight), with some containing a remarkable 76%.

We've also reduced the amount of virgin materials we use. As an example, instead of throwing them away, we rewind yarn ends and tuft them into our Tessera range. We also offer several ranges comprised of up to 100% ECONYL® regenerated yarn.

Through our local and international initiatives, we're continually striving to improve the environmental profile of the Forbo vinyl products.

Forbo Step products are 100% phthalate free and use at least 70% recycled content in the backing.

All our vinyl is produced in Europe where it meets the highest possible current and future REACH compliance standards for chemical content.

All the electricity we buy comes from renewable sources. Our vinyl production sites form part of an effective environmental management system that achieves ISO14001 certification.

iGov Survey

iGov Survey on Hard FM Services in the NHS

To ensure we focus our efforts on the areas that help our public sector clients deliver their hard FM services, we partnered with BiP on an iGov survey.

More than 50 Hospitals, NHS trusts and healthcare providers were included in the survey.

Age-related changes and impairments often make it more difficult for people to understand and navigate a building. Forbo Flooring Systems partnered with The University of Stirling’s Dementia Services Development Centre (DSDC) to assess the suitability of over 1,000 floor finishes for use in dementia-friendly environments.

DSDC is an international centre of expertise and knowledge dedicated to improving the lives of people with dementia. They have drawn on research and practice from across the world for over 25 years, to provide a comprehensive, up-to-date resource for all aspects of dementia.

Around 1% of the world's population has autism spectrum disorder (ASD), which translates to over 75,000,000 people.
