Basis Pro Phase offers 100 cm x 25 cm carpet planks in a contemporary transition stripe design. Available in 6 neutral tones with 6 complementing colour highlights, Basis pro Phase shares yarn colours from Tessera Basis Pro tiles, enabling Basis Pro Phase to also transition into Basis Pro tile, opening up numerous flooring design options.

Modular flooring is continuing to increase in popularity as tile and plank formats allow specifiers to create the flooring of their choice, ranging from colourful and complex designs to minimal, sophisticated aesthetics.

Layout & Outline
The dynamic colour palette of Layout is hugely versatile featuring a comprehensive choice of modern neutrals in combination with diverse and directional brighter shades. Colours can be used independently or in combination with each other.

Outline is a subtly textured striped loop pile carpet tile and each colourway is perfectly matched to 2 Layout colours. Combinations of Outline and Layout offer complete freedom of expression and are great for creating connections, highlights and transitions in any flooring scheme.

Basis Pro Phase
Basis Pro Phase planks offer a myriad of design possibilities with their contemporary transition stripe design and the 6 neutral and 6 highlight options. Tessera Basis Pro Phase shares the same base construction and yarn colours with Tessera Basis Pro tiles, allowing the two ranges to be seamlessly combined to easily create versatile and flexible workspaces.

The graduating colour design across the width of the 100x25 cm plank gives options for colours to fade in and out, going from light to dark and back again, or to simply randomise the planks to create interesting fading and non-fading combinations.

Minimising environmental impact

We embrace the challenge of sustainability by continually improving our carpet ranges and production processes to minimise environmental impact.

Our sustainability improvements for all Tessera collections include:
• Increasing recycled content
By challenging the way tufted carpet tiles are made, all Tessera carpet tiles contain at least 60% recycled content. For some ranges, this percentage is even higher due to the use of yarn regenerated from recycled material.
• Only using renewable energy
The energy used to produce Tessera carpet tiles is from 100% renewable sources such as wind and biogas, ensuring zero carbon impact during the manufacturing process.
• Helping to reduce waste
Typical broadloom flooring solutions will produce around 8% installation waste. Modular flooring, like our Tessera ranges, will reduce this by around 50%, to 4%. Our random lay ranges reduce waste further again to 2% - reducing waste, reducing impacts & costs.
• Lower embodied carbon emissions
Our steps to reduce environmental impact ultimately help reduce the level of embodied carbon included in all of our products and we are continually looking for areas where improvements can be made without compromising product quality and durability, or resorting to carbon offsets.

Certification, EPDs and build schemes

Forbo's steps towards sustainability and product improvement are clearly and transparently communicated, guided and independently verified by our product and management labels and management systems.

Product and management certification
Tessera flooring solutions are designed, developed and manufactured in fully integrated management systems. Quality, safety, environment and social certification (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and SA8000) gives assurance that Forbo produces flooring products of the highest quality, lowest environmental impact, safely and respecting employee rights both within Forbo and our supply chains.

Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)
All Tessera carpet tiles in standard Probac have individual Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) which are third party verified in accordance to ISO 14025 and EN 15804, giving a detailed and transparent overview of environmental impacts such as total recycled content and embodied carbon levels of each Tessera range.

Build schemes
Build schemes are one of the key drivers in accelerating the development of more sustainable and lower impact products. Popular build schemes like BREEAM, LEED, WELL and SKA demand exacting standards across a wide range of qualifying criteria, including, for example, EPDs, indoor air quality and recycled content. Tessera carpet tiles contribute to all build schemes, enabling specifiers to achieve the credits they require to meet their specified project performance targets.
