Sustainability with Tessera

We embrace the challenge of sustainability by communicating our environmental credentials of our products clearly and transparently, guided and independently verified by our product and management labels and management systems, without the use of offsets.

• Up to 76% recycled content
All Tessera carpet tiles now contain a minimum of 60% recycled content, with some ranges achieving 75% or higher

• Low embodied carbon emissions
Some of our ranges achieve 1.5kg per M2 embodied carbon (A1-A3) without offsetting.

The energy used to produce Tessera carpet tiles is from 100% renewable sources such as wind and biogas, ensuring zero carbon impact during the manufacturing process.

• Designed, made and stocked in the UK
All of our Tessera carpet tiles are designed and manufactured at our facility in Bamber Bridge.

EPDs
All Tessera carpet tiles in standard Probac have individual Environmental Product Declarations (EPD’s) which are third party verified in accordance to ISO 14025 and EN 15804, giving a detailed and transparent overview of environmental impacts such as total recycled content and embodied carbon levels of each Tessera range.

GUT Label
Forbo Flooring carpet tiles have received the GUT label. This means all Tessera ranges have passed the latest and severe testing on chemicals and emissions to ensure consumers safety.

Enhanced Sustainability

Standard Tessera carpet tiles already contain over 60% recycled content and are produced using 100% renewable energy (electricity and biogas), resulting in lower embodied carbon levels.

By evolving this standard carpet tile construction, we have further improved the sustainability of selected carpet tile ranges, increasing the recycled content and substantially lowering the embodied carbon (A1-A3); all verified by range specific Environmental Product Declarations (EPD’s) and without offsetting.

Ranges which have this improved sustainability can be easily identified as being part of the evolve+ series, all achieving the following enhanced sustainability criteria:

• less than 1.5 kg CO₂ e/m² of embodied carbon (A1-A3)
• more than 75% recycled content
• produced using 100% renewable energy
