In October 2020, our Modul'up adhesive free vinyl was installed throughout the Children’s A&E and Out Patients at Ormskirk District General Hospital, thanks to it being quick and easy to install.

Can you remind us where Forbo's Modul'up was installed within the Hospital?
Modul’up was installed throughout the A&E waiting areas, circulation spaces and side rooms. We chose the Polar Oak colourway for these spaces, as the plank detailing combined with the natural wood aesthetics provided a more contemporary design.
For the reception area, the Paediatrics staff and changing facilities, we installed Modul’up in the light grey, Dove colourway.

Why did you choose Modul'up for this project?
With the hospital being in operation around the clock by patients, visitors and staff, it was vital that the new flooring solution offered a combination of optimal performance benefits, while being quick and easy to install to minimise both disruption and downtime. And Modul’up ticked all the boxes!
Modul’up was installed over our existing floors, which meant that the flooring contractors did not need to
remove them and were able to complete the job quickly and easily. In fact, they saved over 50% on installation time, which in turn, contributed to our cost savings.
What’s more, due to the nature of hospitals, it’s important that tradespeople can get in and out as quickly as possible, and Modul’up enabled us to do this.

How is Modul'up performing, two years on?
As you can imagine, the flooring is subjected to heavy loads on a daily basis, from patient beds and trolleys to other larger items, such as cages and chairs, and I’m pleased to say that Modul’up is able to withstand it all. It’s performing as new as the day it was installed.

Will you be using Modul’up in any other areas of the hospital?
We are very impressed with how quickly Modul’up was to install and how well it is performing, so we have had it installed throughout other areas of the hospital already – and we’ll definitely be using it on more projects in the future, too!
