The contemporary aesthetics of Forbo Flooring Systems’ Novilon cushioned vinyl, combined with its exceptional performance characteristics, has led Bovis Homes to incorporate the floor covering within its West Midlands region’s Affordable Social Housing Specification.
At Bovis Homes’ Kingsmere development in Bicester, which consists of a mix of affordable and open market properties, Forbo’s Novilon was installed in all of the screeded ground floor rooms in the rented plots, such as the kitchen, hall, guest cloakroom, lounge and first floor bathroom and in the shared ownership homes, the floor covering was fitted to the ground floor kitchen and guest cloakroom, as well as the first floor bathroom.
Maxine Coppin, Partnership Development Coordinator at Bovis Homes, commented: “When it comes to specifying products for a social housing project, tenant safety is paramount. Forbo’s Novilon vinyl is perfect for these projects as it delivers the relevant slip resistance required by our housing association clients and it’s also easy to maintain for the end users.
“In addition to its practical performance, Novilon also comes in a wide variety of colours and designs for our clients to choose from. For the Kingsmere project, our client wanted a natural wooden aesthetic for the flooring of the kitchens and as such, Novilon in the Light Sunny Oak colourway was specified. In the bathrooms the Vicenza design was chosen, which exudes a modern concrete effect. These colourways also complemented the aesthetics of the kitchens and bathrooms being installed to the properties.”
Forbo’s Novilon is a collection of inspiring floor coverings designed to complement every type of interior. It is also hardwearing and easy to maintain thanks to its
features such as Aquagrip, a unique safety feature, Diamond Seal, which protects the floor from scratches, spillages and scuffmarks, and Noviclean, a top layer treatment for easy cleaning.
