QUALITY HOMES, SUSTAINABLE CHOICES: FORBO FLOORING AND WAIN HOMES

With quality and sustainability at the top of Wain Homes’ agenda, the housing developer recently looked to Forbo Flooring Systems and its Allura collection of wood and stone-effect Luxury Vinyl Tiles to kit out the show homes on its latest stunning development.

Working across the North West, Severn Valley and South West of England, Wain Homes pride themselves as being experts in creating both quality homes and thriving communities. One of its latest developments, Molbrook, is located in the traditional market town of South Molton, on the edge of Exmoor National Park. With 187 units in total, the development features a series of beautifully designed two, three and four-bedroom homes, including a small selection of dorma bungalows.

When it came to designing the two show home interiors, with the products and materials installed offered as upgrade options for potential homebuyers, Wain Homes had a number of factors to consider.

Katie Alderton, Sales Director at Wain Homes, explained further: “As a housebuilder, quality is at the top of our list. Our focus is on providing beautiful and robust houses for local families to call their home. Buying a house is a significant investment and we want to be able to assure potential buyers that they are receiving a high-quality build, complete with beautiful finishing touches.

“When it came to specifying the flooring for the show homes, Luxury Vinyl Tiles (LVT) was an obvious choice for the downstairs living areas. There’s always a significant interest in LVT, largely due to its durability and hardwearing nature, as well as the range of designs on offer.

“Sustainability is another key factor for us as a housebuilder. With the built environment contributing a significant portion of global carbon emissions, we want to be building greener and providing local communities with more eco-friendly homes in which to live. It was here that we really aligned with Forbo as a flooring brand, with the manufacturer renowned for its sustainability credentials.”

Wain Homes specified Forbo’s Allura Dryback LVT range throughout the show home hallways, kitchens and dining areas in a variety of colourways and wood-effect designs, including Light Serene Oak, White Raw Timber and Pale Speckled Ceramic.

Designed to be flexible, easy to install and durable, Forbo’s Allura collection provides the design freedom to bring any interior to life. With incredibly realistic wood-effects, a result of the in-register embossing and large print rollers, it also offers increased dimensional stability, ensuring safe and hygienic floors without dirt being trapped in the seams. While its PUR Pearl surface finish ensures easy cleaning and maintenance, with reduced need for harsh cleaning chemicals, all for a longer-lasting finish.

100% phthalate free and with recycled material in the backing, the Allura LVT range is manufactured in Europe in factories using 100% renewable electricity, while clean installation offcuts can be returned for recycling back into production via Forbo’s Back to the Floor scheme.

Katie concluded: “We opened the show homes in January 2024 and they’ve been really well received so far, with the beautifully designed interiors helping prospective buyers envision their new home.”
