Care competence center in Zurndorf

A new care competence center has been built in Zurndorf, in Burgenland, Austria, which plays a key role in the care and support of older people in the region. On 5,000 square meters, 60 long-term residential and nursing home places have been created, as well as five short-term care places. Three beds are designed in such a way that they are suitable for the care of people who need to be ventilated.

The top priority in the nursing home: optimum care and support for residents around the clock by a dedicated team of nursing staff. The new facility is based on a modern concept with residential groups, shared rooms, meeting areas and a café. Each residential group offers residents a place to retreat to where they feel at home. The café serves as a meeting place for the residents, where they can spend time together or with their families.
The architects opted for two different floor coverings from Forbo Flooring for the new building, which were installed by the Lorenz Pollreiss team:

- Marmoleum: Natural Marmoleum flooring was chosen for the canteen and residents' rooms. Marmoleum offers the perfect combination of properties: it is hygienic, sustainable, comfortable and easy to clean - making it the perfect choice for care homes.

- Flotex: In the common areas and corridors, the architects opted for Flotex textile flooring. This is particularly suitable for areas with high footfall, as the textile flooring has excellent acoustic properties. As a washable textile floor covering, it is also easy to clean and hygienic and is therefore frequently used in care homes for the elderly.
