The Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU) is one of the most renowned and traditional universities in Europe. Founded in 1472, the LMU today offers a wide range of courses in the humanities, natural sciences, social sciences and economics. With over 50,000 students from all over the world, the university is characterized by its excellent research and teaching.
The LMU's new learning center impresses students: Opening in 2024, after around a year of renovation, the center offers modern and flexible learning environments that are specifically tailored to the needs of students. With around 100 study places, which are divided into 54 individual and nine group study tables, the hall now offers around 40 more places than before. The interior design promotes collaborative work and interdisciplinary exchange, which is supported by open room concepts and a variety of retreat options.
A lot of money went into the new equipment; the electrical system, floor coverings and lighting were completely renewed. The furniture comes from the architect Torsten Singhof and was designed specifically for the room. The table surfaces are coated on the top and bottom with Furniture Linoleum. Furniture Linoleum, also known as furniture linoleum, is a versatile and environmentally friendly material for furniture surfaces. Furniture not only looks elegant and valuable, it also has a very pleasant feel. Marmoleum Concrete in a light concrete gray was chosen as the floor covering. The floor covering, which is also sustainable, goes perfectly with the light blue tone of the tables and creates a modern feeling of space. Marmoleum Concrete was also laid on the stairs, but as a Decibel variant to minimize impact noise.
