Vogt-Heß-Gemeinschaftsschule Herrenberg

The educational institution Gemeinschaftsschule Herrenberg is located in the picturesque town of Herrenberg, in the heart of Baden-Württemberg. The school building first had to be gutted and stripped back to its shell condition. The façade and roof were insulated as part of an energy-efficient refurbishment. The building also received new windows, doors and external sun protection. In order to bring both the school and the sports hall up to the latest technical standards, the entire heating, ventilation and sanitary technology as well as the electrical technology had to be replaced.

In addition to the energy-efficient refurbishment, the focus was also on sustainable product selection. Forbo's climate-positive Marmoleum was therefore chosen for the floor covering. Linoleum is made from natural raw materials such as linseed oil, wood flour and tree resins, which makes it an environmentally friendly choice. At a time when sustainability is playing an increasingly important role, this is an important aspect for educational institutions that want to minimise their ecological footprint.
