"Our goal is the independent, self-confident child who takes responsibility for his or her actions and learning processes and treats himself or herself and others respectfully, appreciatively and lovingly," is the mission statement of the primary school at the Darmstadt-Eberstadt site. The building project Ludwig-Schwamb-Schule was accompanied by Walter Huber Architekten GmbH. The building was constructed in wood, which saves C02 compared to conventional construction methods.
Classrooms and group rooms, where learning and playing take place, have special requirements in terms of functionality and design. The materials used must meet these requirements and create learning environments that are motivating.
In the classrooms, there are spacious wall cupboards made of light wood. Linoleum in a light green tone was chosen for the floor. Linoleum stands out as a suitable choice in education because it is not only a particularly sustainable product, but also withstands extreme wear and tear.
