Nuway Tuftiguard HD

Nuway Tuftiguard HD is the ideal matting for entrances that experience heavy duty loads and intense wheeled or pedestrian traffic. Our patented aluminium scraper bars make Tuftiguard HD the strongest matting in the Nuway range.

Tests have shown that Tuftiguard HD can withstand static loads up to 900kg/cm2 as compared with the maximum load of 200kg/cm2 for standard Tuftiguard mats. The Aluminium scraper bars include special ridges to effectively remove dirt while also remaining smooth enough to allow wheeled traffic to move easily.

Where to use

Type, location and level of traffic will affect your choice of product. Tuftiguard HD is ideal for heavy, intense traffic areas and for entrances supporting high point loads up to 900kg/cm².

Internal or external entrances

Matting positioned outside will protect against soil and very coarse foot-borne dirt. Inside it will protect against finer dirt particles and foot-borne moisture.

Reversible

As Nuway Tuftiguard HD is double sided it can be reversed where the entrance mat configuration permits, essentially doubling its lifespan.

Finishes

Tuftiguard HD is designed for optimum performance, so there is a narrower choice of finishes than for standard Tuftiguard. However, the opportunity remains to create an entrance that reflects and complements your interior colour schemes.

Scraper bars
As its name suggests, these bars scrape soil from individuals and traffic crossing the mat. Tuftiguard HD’s aluminium scraper bars have a patented design and are constructed to withstand heavy loads up to 900kg/cm²

Wiper strips
Polyamide fibre and prime rubber remove fine dirt and moisture, while adding colour to your entrance mat

Moisture removal

Removing moisture from the bottom of shoes is crucial in preventing people slipping on interior surfaces. Tuftiguard HD includes double wiper strips for optimum moisture removal.

The performance of Tuftiguard HD Classic but with increased design options through the addition of nine coloured wiper strips.

Considerations
BS8300-2:2018 Section 14.2 states that both natural and artificial sources of lighting should be designed to avoid creating glare, pools of bright light and strong shadows. As with all aluminium matting systems of this type, in very brightly lit or illuminated areas, the strong contrast between light coloured aluminium scraper bars and dark wiper strips can sometimes create a strong visual contrast (and in extreme situations, a strobe effect) which should be prevented. To avoid disorientating pedestrians affected by this type of visual disturbance, consider using a less contrasting wiper strip.
