Where to use

The location, type and level of traffic affects the choice of product. Nuway Grid is suitable for very heavy traffic entrances. For entrances where intense traffic or high point loading is expected, our Tuftiguard or Tuftiguard HD ranges may be more suitable.

Internal or external entrances

Matting placed outside will defend against soil and the coarsest of foot-borne dirt. Inside it will defend against foot-borne moisture and finer dirt particles.
Nuway Grid is available for both internal and external entrances depending on the choice of insert.

Reversible?

Nuway Grid is a single sided mat and so cannot be reversed to allow both sides to be used, unlike our Tuftiguard ranges.

Nuway Grid offers a wide choice of inserts including rubber, Ultragrip rubber, Coral Classic, Coral Brush and Burford textile inserts.

Nuway Grid with Coral inserts allows the rigid entrance system to be matched to Coral sheet product to create a colour coordinated entrance area.

Moisture removal

Removing moisture from the soles of shoes is vital to prevent people slipping on interior surfaces. Grid with Coral inserts will remove more moisture than the other Grid inserts.

Exterior use

Ultragrip Rubber - for sure footing in multi directional entrances. For interior and exterior use. This insert has been tested using the pendulum (the HSE recommended test method) in accordance with BS7976-2 and the UK Slip Resistant Group Guidelines and offers a low slip risk in wet and dry conditions.

It also offers increased underfoot comfort due to its 'pocketed' construction and has excellent fire rating properties.

Select the depth

The choice of height will largely be dependent on the depth of the matwell. Grid is available in 12mm and 17mm depths to suit most matwells.

Considerations
As with all aluminium matting systems of this type, in very brightly lit entrances, the strong contrast between a light aluminium carrier and a dark coloured insert can sometimes create a strobe effect which should be prevented. To avoid disorientating pedestrians affected by this type of visual disturbance, consider using a less contrasting insert.

If you are considering using rubber inserts for an exterior mat in an exposed entrance we recommend using a combination of rubber and bristle or Ultragrip rubber for maximum slip resistance.
