Each Tuftiguard mat is assembled using aluminium (100% recycled) or Bamboo scraper bars, and buffed or unbuffed prime rubber and polyamide fibre composite wiper strips. The wiper strips and scraper bars are assembled in an open or closed construction with high tensile electro galvanised steel wire linkages running through the components to give the mat its structural integrity and superior load bearing capacity.

Where to use?

The location, type and level of traffic affects the choice of product. Tuftiguard is suitable for very heavy and intense traffic areas.

Internal or external

Matting placed outside will defend against soil and the coarsest of footborne dirt. Inside it will defend against footborne moisture and finer dirt particles.
Nuway Tuftiguard offers products suitable for both internal and external entrances.

Reversible?

Nuway Tuftiguard is double sided which means it can be reversible where the configuration of the entrance mat allows, effectively doubling its lifespan.

Finishes

There is a wide choice of wiper strips and scraper bars which allow our Tuftiguard mats to co-ordinate with all interior finishes.

Scraper bars
As the name suggests, they scrape soil from the traffic walking across the mat. In Tuftiguard, scraper bars are available in anodised aluminium, in a choice of colours and bamboo.

Wiper strips
Prime rubber and polyamide fibre remove moisture and fine dirt and they can add colour and design to the entrance mat.

Moisture

Removing moisture from the soles of shoes is vital to prevent slipping on interior surfaces. Selecting the option of double wiper strips help to remove moisture and is recommended in entrances where the mat has less than 3m walking depth.

*Nuway Tuftiguard is guaranteed for 10 years (Bamboo is guaranteed for five years), however, installations by FESSI's (Forbo Entrance System Specialist Installer) offer an extended guarantee of 15 years (7 years for Bamboo). Tuftiguard Classic

The original and most widely used entrance mat in the UK.

Scraper bars – there is a choice of six:
- Anodised aluminium - the most popular choice
- Coloured anodised aluminium – the robustness of aluminium combined with a matt black, sand, bronze or gold aesthetic
- Bamboo – a sustainable species of grass which provides a matt look, ideal for use alongside timber finishes

Wiper strips
The wiper strip is a grey buffed rubber for maximum soil hiding. It’s available as a single or double width strip for increased moisture removal

Depth -12 or 17mm to suit most matwells

Format - Open or closed to suit most entrance environments

Nuway Tuftiguard Design range options

Considerations
As with all aluminium matting systems of this type, in very brightly lit areas, the strong contrast between light aluminium scraper bar and a dark wiper strip can sometimes create a strobe effect which should be prevented. To avoid disorientating pedestrians affected by this type of visual disturbance, consider using Bamboo or coloured anodised scraper bars with a less contrasting wiper strip.
